We started the cooperation with „dress a bulb” by GOODGOODS, a wonderful design collective that designs products for life and home with social attention. We have informed our staff about the upcoming week(s), we’ve donated all remaining food to the charity “Wiener Gruft” and closed the doors to our lovely restaurant to protect ourselves as well as our guests.  The Guesthouse Team and family always sticks together when times get tough, so be assured, NO member of staff WILL BE DISMISSED from their jobs.  Here on Instagram we will keep you updated with the latest news and info, and share stories about our restaurant, the hotel as well as our staff. And of course, we will also tell you when we’re coming back! We are really looking forward to your visits again once life gets back on track. But until then, stay at home, stay healthy and keep your spirits up. Spend your time playing board games, make yourself laugh with a round of charades and read good books. Das Ei: Harte Schale, weicher Kern

„Die Henne oder das Ei? Was war zuerst da?“ Sorry – auf diese Frage haben auch wir leider keine Antwort, da müssen wir euch enttäuschen. Aber wir haben die Osterwoche zum Anlass genommen um dem wahren Oster-Star einen ganzen Blogbeitrag zu widmen: dem Ei!

Ostern – die Zeit der Tulpen, Hasen, Küken und Nester ist wieder angebrochen. Nicht zu vergessen – das Ei! Nicht nur zu Ostern, sondern das ganze Jahr über ist für viele ein Leben ohne Eier nicht (oder zumindest schwer) vorstellbar – ist es doch ein fixer Bestandteil von vielen köstlichen Rezepten. Und wer möchte schon auf unsere leckeren Eigerichte zum Frühstück verzichten 😋

Wir haben ein paar der schönsten Fotos von Benedict, Florentine & Co herausgesucht - die Entscheidung viel uns nicht leicht... Mhmmmm – da bekommt man gleich Hunger. Wie gut, dass man bei uns von 06.30 bis 23.00 Uhr frühstücken kann!

Funfacts

Wir haben uns schlau gemacht und ein wenig „Unnützes Wissen“ rund ums Ei für Euch zusammengetragen:

🍳 Im Durchschnitt legt eine Henne 300 bis 325 Eier pro Jahr

🍳 Die Farbe des Eigelbs hängt von der Ernährung der Henne ab

🍳 Falls ein Ei einmal aus Versehen auf den Boden fällt, bestreue es mit Salz dann lässt es sich leichter aufwischen

🍳 Je älter die Henne desto größer die Eier

🍳 40% aller Eier weltweit werden in China konsumiert

🍳 Der Weltrekord für das Schnellessen von hartgekochten Eiern liegt bei 65 Stück in 6min 40 sec. Sonya Thomas hätte auch mehr gegessen aber es gab keine Eier mehr.

Ostereier übrig?

Jedes Jahr das gleiche… Ostern ist fast vorbei. Doch was passiert nach dem Fest eigentlich mit den vielen buntgefärbten Eiern? Wie wäre es mit diesem Eiersalat – fertig in 10 Minuten und schmeckt garantiert jedem #egglover! Was du dafür brauchst:

3 hartgekochte Eier
½ grüner Paprika
ein paar Radieschen
1 Tomate
100 Gramm Naturjoghurt
2TL Rapsöl (oder Olivenöl)

1TL Senf
2EL Orangensaft
2EL Kapern
0,5 TL Cayennepfeffer
eine Prise Salz
ein wenig Gartenkresse oder auch Dille

Die hartgekochten Eier schälen und in Stücke schneiden. Paprika, Radieschen und Tomate klein schneiden. Das Naturjoghurt  mit dem Raps- oder Olivenöl, Senf, Orangensaft Kapern vermengen und mit Cayennepfeffer und Salz abschmecken. Alle Salatzutaten zusammenmischen. Zum Schluss den Salat mit der Kresse oder der Dille bestreuen und jede Portion mit zwei Römersalatblättern anrichten.

Mit 2 Scheiben knusprigem Brot und eventuell Essiggurkerl servieren!

Tipp: Wer es lieber ein wenig runder mag, kann das Naturjoghurt auch gegen Mayonnaise tauschen.
