For us, a good stay also means having the freedom to live a little. Invite friends to your room, open a bottle of Austrian wine from the minibar, read by the window, linger over coffee. The interiors, designed by Sir Terence Conran and Conran & Partners, combine international design with Viennese understatement. Since 2013, we have welcomed guests from around the world to Führichgasse 10, in the 1st district, a few minutes from St Stephen’s Cathedral and the Vienna State Opera.

The atmosphere of a boutique hotel is not really about size. It is about attention, and about the people who bring a place to life.
With just 39 rooms, we have chosen to remain small. That means having time for the details that make a stay personal: finding the right pillow for a restful night, recommending a restaurant to match the occasion, sharing a favourite route for a morning walk, or adding a thoughtful touch to a special celebration.
From our pillow menu and Austrian wines in the minibar to a warm welcome for dogs, we want you to feel less like someone passing through and more like someone who has found a home in Vienna for a few days.
Our rooms
Every guest arrives with different wishes. Our rooms and suites vary in size and atmosphere, but all share the same essentials: comfort, carefully chosen furnishings and a calm sense of place.
Superior Courtyard – Single and Double (19–25 m²) – Quiet rooms overlooking the inner courtyard. Intimate, calm and charming. The single rooms are ideal for solo stays and business trips.
Deluxe Double (32 m²) – Generous rooms with window seating and views towards the State Opera and Albertinaplatz. Our most popular category.
Deluxe Plus (35 m²) – A little more space, with room for an extra bed or cot. A very good choice for families.
Courtyard Deluxe (37 m²) – On the top floor, with a spacious bathroom, freestanding bath and rain shower. From here, you can see the spire of St Stephen’s Cathedral.
Maisonette Suite (47–52 m²) – Two levels, open architecture, generous glazing and a real sense of space. Our finest rooms for guests who want something special.
Every room has a Jura espresso machine with our house-roasted coffee, a well-stocked minibar with Austrian wines, Bang & Olufsen entertainment, handmade hypoallergenic mattresses and organic toiletries by March. King-size beds are standard in all double rooms and suites.
Viennese hospitality – and a Michelin Key
The Michelin Guide has awarded The Guesthouse Vienna a Michelin Key, a distinction for hotels with a strong sense of character, excellent service and a stay that lingers in the memory.
For us, good service is not polished formality. It is warmth, attention and timing: being there before you need to ask, and stepping back when you would rather be left in peace. That balance is what we work on every day.
The Brasserie
A good stay in Vienna should include a good table. Our Brasserie is open from early morning until late and has become a favourite with hotel guests and Viennese regulars alike.
Breakfast is served à la carte, with regional produce and fresh pastries from Öfferl organic bakery. At lunchtime, there is business lunch. In the evening, the kitchen serves seasonal Viennese and international dishes. The wine list focuses on Austria. The atmosphere is relaxed; the standards are not.
Good to know
Check-in is from 3.00 pm, check-out by noon. Late check-out is available on request and subject to availability. We are happy to store luggage before check-in or after check-out.
Dogs are welcome at no extra charge. Accessible rooms are available. Cots and high chairs are provided with pleasure. The building is entirely non-smoking.
We recommend the Neuer Markt underground car park, two minutes away, with electric charging points. Our valet service can take care of parking. From Vienna Airport, we offer fixed-price transfers: €69 in a BMW i5 or €94 in a Mercedes Vito. Stephansplatz and Karlsplatz underground stations are both within easy walking distance.
