Accessibility Declaration

The Guesthouse (BHB Boutique Hotel Betriebs GmbH) strives to make its website (www.theguesthouse.at) accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services (Accessibility Act – BaFG, BGBl. I No. 76/2023 as amended).

At www.theguesthouse.at, we offer online booking of hotel rooms and reservations for tables in our restaurant, among other things. These offers are provided as services in electronic commerce to consumers and thus fall within the scope of the Accessibility Act (BaFG).

This website complies with level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and with European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) and the European Accessibility Directive (EU) 2019/882 (implemented by the Accessibility Act – BaFG, BGBl. I No. 76/2023).

Accessibility of our Website

The following measures in particular have been implemented to make www.theguesthouse.at accessible:

  • Use of semantically structured HTML and heading hierarchy to support screen readers and keyboard navigation.
  • Full operability of the main navigation and central functions with the keyboard (e.g., using the tab key and clear focus indicators).
  • Compliance with sufficient color contrasts in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA and provision of a high-contrast mode.
  • Responsive design for different screen sizes without loss of functionality when enlarging content.
  • Use of meaningful link texts and alternative texts for content-relevant images and graphics.
  • No automatically starting audio/video content or time limits, as far as this is technically possible and reasonable.

Non-accessible content

Despite the measures described above, the following content and functions are not yet fully accessible as things stand at present:

  • Some PDF documents and other downloadable files (e.g., individual information documents, menus, forms) are not yet fully accessible and are being revised step by step.
  • Embedded content from external providers (e.g., map services, rating or recommendation platforms, newsletters or tracking tools, if applicable) does not always comply with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 or EN 301 549, as their technical implementation is only partially within our sphere of influence.
  • Older content published before June 28, 2025, does not yet fully comply with the current requirements in some cases and will be gradually adapted as part of ongoing maintenance.

We are constantly working to identify and reduce any remaining barriers.

Other third-party services

Our website occasionally integrates other services from external providers (e.g., map and route functions, rating and recommendation platforms, newsletters and analysis tools, or social media content). These services are carefully selected. However, their complete accessibility is partly beyond our direct control.

Insofar as these services are not directly necessary for the initiation or conclusion of consumer contracts in electronic commerce, they do not fall entirely within the scope of the Accessibility Act. Nevertheless, they are taken into account in technical adjustments with regard to accessibility, as far as this is possible and economically reasonable.
