Accessibility Statement

The Guesthouse (BHB Boutique Hotel Betriebs GmbH) endeavours to ensure that its website (www.theguesthouse.at) is accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services (Accessibility Act – BaFG, Federal Law Gazette I No. 76/2023, as amended).

Via www.theguesthouse.at, we offer, amongst other things, online booking of hotel rooms and table reservations at our restaurant. These services are provided to consumers as part of electronic commerce and therefore fall within the scope of the Accessibility Act (BaFG).

This website complies with Conformity Level AA of the ‘Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1’ and with the European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) and is largely compatible with the European Accessibility Directive (EU) 2019/882 (implemented by the Accessibility Act – BaFG, Federal Law Gazette I No. 76/2023).

Accessibility of our website

The following measures, in particular, have been implemented to ensure the accessible design of www.theguesthouse.at:

  • Use of a semantically structured HTML and heading hierarchy to support screen readers and keyboard navigation.
  • Full operability of the main navigation and key functions via the keyboard (e.g. using the Tab key and clear focus indicators).
  • Compliance with sufficient colour contrasts in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA, as well as the provision of a high-contrast mode.
  • Responsive design for different screen sizes, with no loss of functionality when content is zoomed in.
  • Use of meaningful link text and alternative text for images and graphics relevant to the content.
  • No automatically playing audio or video content, and no time limits, where technically possible and reasonable.

Non-accessible content

Despite the measures described above, the following content and functions are not yet fully accessible as things stand:

  • PDF documents and other downloadable files (e.g. individual information sheets, menus, forms) are not yet all available in a fully accessible format and are being revised in stages.
  • Embedded content from external providers (e.g. map services, review or recommendation platforms, and, where applicable, newsletter or tracking tools) do not always comply with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 or EN 301 549, as their technical implementation is only to a limited extent within our control.
  • Older content published before 28 June 2025 does not yet fully comply with the current requirements in some cases and is being gradually adapted as part of our ongoing maintenance.

We are constantly working to identify and reduce any remaining barriers.
