In the heart of Vienna, a few steps from the State Opera and directly opposite the Albertina, our Brasserie invites you to slow down and stay a while. Viennese warmth meets contemporary cooking in a room that feels relaxed, elegant and very much alive.
The Brasserie & Bakery at The Guesthouse Vienna is not a conventional hotel restaurant. It has a personality of its own, open to hotel guests and Viennese regulars 365 days a year: first coffee in the morning, a quick lunch, cake in the afternoon, wine at the bar in the evening. The day has no fixed rhythm here – only good moments at a good table.
What a brasserie means to us
The brasserie is a French idea: a place open all day, where you can eat well without ceremony. Somewhere between coffee house and restaurant, convivial but considered, easy but never careless. In Paris, it is part of everyday life. In Vienna, that particular kind of place had been waiting for its moment.
Ours has become a meeting point beyond the hotel. Regulars come for breakfast, people from the neighbourhood for lunch, couples for dinner, and some simply for espresso and cake. That flexibility is what makes a real brasserie.
Food with character
Led by Head Chef Florian Oswald and Sous Chef Jakob Urwanisch, the kitchen cooks with regional ingredients, seasonal ideas and an international sense of ease. The menu changes with the season, but the principle stays the same: good ingredients, treated with care.
Bread and pastries arrive fresh each morning from Öfferl organic bakery. Desserts come from Café Prückel. Our wine list focuses on Austrian producers, and our coffee is roasted for us by Naber, a long-established Viennese roaster. The essentials matter, and you can taste it.

The Brasserie is open daily from 6.30 am to 11.00 pm, with the kitchen open until 10.30 pm. Explore what we offer throughout the day:
Patisserie & takeaway
Our pastries and Viennese sweets are part of the house. Sachertorte, apple strudel or a seasonal creation from our patisserie – everything is available to take away. For home, as a gift, or as the perfect sweet pause in a Viennese afternoon.
Gift vouchers
An evening at our table makes a lovely gift. Our vouchers can be used throughout the Brasserie, from breakfast to drinks at the bar to a full dinner, and are available online or at reception.
