DINNER

Brasserie Dinner Vienna:
Dinner at the Guesthouse Vienna

In the evening, The Guesthouse Brasserie serves seasonal cooking with its own balance of Viennese tradition and cosmopolitan ease. Freshly prepared, carefully presented, and made with ingredients we know and trust. All this in the heart of Vienna, directly opposite the Albertina and just a few steps from the State Opera.

The evening menu

Head Chef Florian Oswald and Sous Chef Jakob Urwanisch shape the menu around a simple idea: good ingredients deserve clear, confident cooking. The dishes are seasonal, regional where possible, and prepared with a distinct point of view. Viennese classics sit naturally alongside French-influenced brasserie dishes – two traditions that have always understood each other well.

The menu changes with the seasons. Winter brings deeper flavours, slow-cooked dishes and seasonal game dishes. Summer is lighter, with vegetables from regional farms and a fresher touch. What remains constant is the attention to detail, from the bread served at the beginning to dessert from our patisserie.

What to expect

Starters – From finely prepared tartare and seasonal soups to vegetarian dishes that stand confidently on their own.

Main courses – Wiener schnitzel, steaks from local beef, precisely cooked fish and vegetarian plates that feel complete, not like an afterthought.

Pâtisserie – Elegant desserts from our patisserie and classic Viennese sweets, from crème brûlée to apple strudel.

Wines, champagne and drinks

Our wine list has a clear focus on Austria: Grüner Veltliner from the Wachau, Riesling from the Kamptal, Blaufränkisch from Burgenland and much more. Alongside this, we offer a carefully chosen international selection and sparkling wines, from Austrian Sekt to champagne for special occasions.

If you would like an aperitif before dinner or a drink at the bar afterwards, we serve classic cocktails, signature drinks and fine spirits. Champagne before the opera, a Negroni after the theatre – our team is here from 6.30 am to 11.00 pm.

The atmosphere

The Brasserie was designed by Sir Terence Conran and Conran & Partners. Wood, leather, brass and large windows towards Albertinaplatz create a warm, urban mood in the evening. The lights are softer, the room relaxes, and the space takes on a quiet elegance without ever becoming formal or stiff.

Occasions for dinner

Before or after the opera. A romantic dinner for two. The end of a long day in Vienna. An evening with friends, when time can slow down between starter and dessert. A business dinner where the food should be as good as the setting. Or simply because you feel like a proper dinner, with no occasion needed.

For birthdays, anniversaries or proposals, we are happy to prepare something special: champagne on arrival, flowers, a card with a personal message. Tell us when you book, and we will take care of the details.
